In hospitality the damage is reputational before it is operational. One bed bug photograph in an online review outlasts any single guest complaint, and Mumbai hotels see constant guest turnover that keeps reintroducing them.

RPS Pest Control works with hotels, serviced apartments, guest houses and hostels across Mumbai. Technicians arrive in plain uniform, work to a room-release schedule agreed with housekeeping, and keep guest-facing areas free of odour and visible equipment.

Pests that matter most in a hotel

Bed bugs

The priority pest. Treated room by room in two sittings 14 days apart, with adjacent rooms inspected.

Cockroaches

Back-of-house kitchens, pantries and room service corridors; gel baiting keeps rooms usable.

Rodents

Service shafts, laundry, garbage yard and basement parking; sealed station programme.

Mosquitoes

Landscaping, water features and terraces; larvicide plus outdoor fogging.

Flies and ants

Banquet areas, garbage rooms and pantry stations.

How we treat a hotel

  1. Survey of guest floors, back-of-house, kitchen, laundry, garbage yard and basement.
  2. Bed bug treatment of affected and adjacent rooms — mattress seams, headboards, skirting and furniture joints — with a mandatory second sitting after 14 days.
  3. Cockroach gel baiting through kitchen, pantry and service corridors.
  4. Rodent bait stations mapped across perimeter, basement and service areas.
  5. Mosquito larvicide in water collection points plus terrace and garden treatment.
  6. Monthly report with room-wise history and recommended proofing.

Guest privacy and reporting

Hotel work runs on a signed room-release list so housekeeping controls which rooms are treated and when they are handed back. Each visit generates a service report with room numbers, treatment applied and re-entry time, which forms an audit trail for brand standards and for insurance or guest-complaint records. Bed bug jobs additionally record the inspection findings for adjacent rooms.

Service frequency and contracts

Hotels are contracted monthly for back-of-house and common areas, with bed bug response handled on call — usually within 24 hours of a guest report, and same day where technicians are available. Bed bug warranty runs up to 1 year on treated rooms; general pest control carries a 30–90 day warranty with free re-treatment inside the period.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know before booking pest control service.

How quickly can you respond to a bed bug complaint in a guest room?
We prioritise bed bug callouts and usually attend within 24 hours, same day where a technician is free. The room is treated, adjacent rooms are inspected, and a second sitting follows 14 days later.
How long must a treated room stay out of service?
A bed bug treatment takes 1–3 hours per room, after which the room needs ventilation and normal housekeeping before it is released. Most hotels block the room for the shift rather than the full day.
Will guests notice the treatment?
Technicians attend in plain uniform, work to the room-release list housekeeping gives us, and use low-odour formulations. Guest corridors are left clear of equipment.
Do you provide a warranty on bed bug work?
Yes. Bed bug treatment carries a warranty of up to 1 year on treated rooms, provided the second sitting is completed. If activity returns within the period we re-treat at no charge.
Can you cover the kitchen and back-of-house under the same contract?
Yes. A single monthly AMC typically covers kitchen, pantry, laundry, garbage yard, basement and common areas, with guest rooms handled on inspection and on complaint.
Do you work at night?
Yes. Kitchen and public-area work is normally scheduled at night or in the early morning so it does not interfere with service.
